Cargill Ltd. has announced it is selling its Unity, Sask., grain elevator to GL Southgate Farms Ltd., an area farm operation.
The elevator has a licenced capacity of 6,000 tonnes. The deal is expected to be complete this month and a price was not disclosed.
Cargill will maintain a presence in Unity, including a crop protection warehouse, a liquid fertilizer tank farm and a dry fertilizer blending facility.
Tracy David, Cargill’s facility manager, will continue to manage the crop input business in Unity along with local staff, and Sara Yuzak will continue to support area crop producers’ farm business needs.
