Sask. woman pleads guilty to fraud at livestock firm

A Moose Jaw, Sask., woman will be sentenced in September after pleading guilty to defrauding a city livestock company.

Marian Kobsar was a part-time bookkeeper for JGL Livestock, which in 2001 reported that about $1 million had gone missing from its accounts between May 1995 and November 2001.

Kobsar was arrested and charged in July 2002. On May 5 she pleaded guilty in Queen’s Bench court to a charge of fraud over $5,000.

The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison.
