New picker eases backache

HANNOVER, Germany — A new 21 foot wide stone picker has been launched by Finnish company Pel-Tuote, which is its widest machine in the portfolio.

Called the Kivi-Pekka 7, the machine can pick up stones across the entire 21 foot width and has a stone tank capacity of three cubic metres.

It can handle stones with a diameter up to 19.5 inches. The lifting drum has 33 lifting tines and can handle 3,200 pounds per minute.

The standard tipping height is nine feet, making it easy to unload the stones into a trailer.

The Kivi-Pekka 7 comes with bogie wheels in either 560/60-22.5 or 700/45-22.5 sizes. In addition to the new seven metre model, Kivi-Pekka stone pickers are also available with working widths of four, five and six metres.

Finnish company Pel-Tuote released the new Kivi-Pekka 7 at Agritechnica in Hannover a few weeks ago. The Kivi, which is available in Canada, can pick up stones across its 21 foot width and has a stone tank capacity of three cubic metres. | Chris McCullough photos
