Bison

The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$4.80-$5 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$3.85-$4.15 per lb.

Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $38.57 per hundredweight Nov. 1, down from $42.08 on Oct. 25.

U.S. hogs averaged $48.95 on a carcass basis Nov. 1, down from $53.10.

The U.S. pork cutout was $75.64 per cwt., down from $76.56 Oct. 25.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Nov. 2 was 2.669 million, down from 2.693 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.591 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the Nov 4 Signature Five price was C$151.84 per 100 kilograms, up from C$145.79 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $68.87, up from $66.13 the previous week.

Sheep

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,548 sheep and lambs and 83 goats sold Nov 1. New crop lambs ranged from $200 to $275, while fed lambs sold from $170 to $190. Over 110 lb. sold from $110 to $187. Goats 50 to 75 lb. sold from $140 to $170.

Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 853 sheep and 223 goats sold Oct 28.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $120-$178 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $135-$185, 70-85 lb. were $148-$180, 86-105 lb. were $145-$166 and 106 lb. and heavier were $130-$151.
