Farmers celebrate anniversary with grain bin win at Sask. farm show

LANGHAM, Sask. — Of the 30,000 farmers at Ag in Motion, none were happier than Jordan and Jennifer Lindgren. Not only was July 18 their 15th wedding anniversary, but they won a 35,000 bushel grain bin.

On that day, Dave Wall of Wall Grain pulled a slip of paper out of an entry-packed drum and read Lindgren’s name.

“We got a little emotional. We were just blown away,” said Jordan.

It may not be romantic, but it was a great anniversary gift, Jennifer added.

The Lindgrens, who farm 14,000 acres near Norquay, Sask., put up two 75,000 bu. bins last year, but still had to resort to grain bags.

“We really have needed more capacity,” Jordan said.

“This is a great help.”

Added Wall: “We’ve been in the bin business 35 years this year, so to mark the occasion, we got together with all our suppliers to give away a 35,000 bu. bin. Our suppliers and associates have been collecting entry forms since last year. And this lucky young farmer was the name we pulled today.”
