Big hail hits SE Sask, SW Manitoba; tornado possible

Storms have hammered southeast Saskatchewan with hail and are tracking their way northeast across Manitoba.
“We’ve had reports of tennis ball sized hail in Carievale, Saskatchewan,” said Jeremy Kusyk, meteorologist with Environment Canada.
There were reports of funnel clouds associated with that storm. No tornadoes have touched down in Saskatchewan but there are reports of very small tornadoes reaching the ground in extreme southwest Manitoba.
Kusyk said that storm system is tracking at 30 kilometres per hour.
There is actually a line of storms moving from southwest Saskatchewan towards Brandon, Man. Reports on social media show heavy rain and hail in Brandon.

“Things are developing rapidly right now,” he said.
“There’s a good chance we’ll continue to receive hail reports.”
He believes the hail that hits Manitoba will also be tennis ball sized.
