Retailers join American input network

The Grow Community of Independent Ag Retails Ltd., which represents more than 75 locally owned crop input retail locations in Western Canada, is joining forces with United Suppliers, Inc.

United Suppliers is a wholesale supplier of crop protection inputs, seed and crop nutrients, with headquarters in Eldora and Ames, Iowa. The 52-year-old company is owned by 628 agricultural dealers that operate 2,800 retail locations in the United States and parts of Canada.

The Grow Community will become United Suppliers Canada, Inc. Crop Protection and Seed Business Unit as of Sept. 1. A crop nutrients unit is based in Regina.

Greg McDonald will lead the crop protection and seed unit and report to Brad Oelmann, chief executive officer of United Suppliers Inc.

“Both companies share the same purpose, which is to increase our owners’ capabilities and competitiveness with a high level of accountability, responsiveness and collaboration,” said McDonald.

All Grow office staff have joined United Suppliers Canada, Inc.

Independent dealers will have an opportunity to own the Canadian company.

The Grow Community dealers are:

  • Alberta — Andrukow Group, Crowfoot Ag Solutions, Dunvegan Ag Solutions, Flatlander Ag Solutions, Parkland Fertilizers, Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers.
  • Saskatchewan and Alberta — Providence Grain Solutions.
  • Saskatchewan — Blair’s Fertilizer, Cavalier Agrow, G-Mac’s AgTeam, Hetland Seeds, North Star Fertilizers, Soilutions Ag Lab, Warington AgroDynamic, Wendland Ag Services.
  • Manitoba — Double Diamond Farm Supply, Sur-Gro Farm Services and Munro Farm Supplies.
