Paterson expands at Killarney

Paterson GlobalFoods plans to increase the capacity of its facility in Killarney, Man., by 18,000 tonnes and extend its rail siding to accommodate 112 cars.

Paterson Grain, which has run a grain shipping operation in Killarney since 1912, plans to complete the expansion by September.

Paterson president Andrew Paterson said the facility is on the southernmost Canadian Pacific Railway line in Manitoba, which stretches from Winnipeg into Saskatchewan, and is not dependent on grain traffic.

Paterson GlobalFoods operates 50 grain elevators in Western Canada, as well as NutraSun Foods, Feedmax and other subsidiaries.
