WINNIPEG, January 11 – The Canadian dollar lost ground against its US counterpart in early activity on Wednesday.
The US dollar advanced ahead of a news conference with Donald Trump. The president-elect is expected to elaborate on his economic plans.
At 9:15 CST Wednesday, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7537 or US$=C$1.3268, which compares with Tuesday’s North American close of US$0.7560 or US$1=C$1.3227.
There was no significant economic data released by Statistics Canada on Wednesday.
The TSX was up 13.46 points at 9:15 CST Wednesday morning to sit at 15,439.74.
