Scenes and sounds from this year’s Commodity Classic in San Antonio

Here’s a taste of what I saw when I went down to the Commodity Classic farm policy convention in San Antonio, Texas last week. It’s the conference that brings together the annual conventions of the American wheat, corn and soybean growers associations and draws in thousands of farmers and lots of people trying to make nice with them, such as U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.

Quite a few Canadians were there this year too, not just travelling independently but also popping down after the Canola Council of Canada convention, also being held in San Antonio last week, wrapped up.

These are just some clips and images I captured as I wandered around San Antonio and the sprawling conference. (I’m also putting up a video of the Canola Council conf, so check that out too.)
